The Courageous Conversation® Certification Program is a critical next step to building the will, knowledge, skill, and capacity from within to transform an organization.
The certification program will also enable you to implement the CCAR Protocol™ while assisting individuals and organizations with successfully creating their own equitable environments and communities.

Certification Overview
Examine and address institutionalized culture and structures as they relate to racial disparities. Our certification program provides a comprehensive educational curriculum designed to enable qualified participants to serve as CCAR™ practitioners and facilitators. We deliver an instructional model grounded in CCAR Protocol™, adult learning theory, and culturally relevant practices.
Certification Pathways
CCAR™ Practitioner Certification:
A Journey of Passion and Practice
The Practitioner certification is the foundational learning for participants to deepen their will, knowledge and skill of Courageous Conversations About Race Protocol®. Engaged in a multi-sector cohort with participants across the country, members will learn and grow from the experiences and perspectives of others seeking to enact personal and organizational change for racial equity.
Prerequisites:
- Completion of our Beyond Diversity I (one) or Virtual Courageous Conversation® Exploration or Experience foundational trainings
Course Duration:
- 15 weeks (plus 2 months of ongoing practice)
CCAR™ Facilitator Certifications:
Creating Sustainability and Capacity
Deepen your organizational capacity with certified facilitators. The certification is designed for organizations with current certified Practitioners who are seeking to become trained in the facilitation of our foundational Courageous Conversation® programming. Upon certification, certified Facilitators have the capacity to lead trainings within their organizations.
Prerequisites:
- Organization has a minimum of two (2) certified practitioners to serve as facilitators
- Organization is willing to have an annual intellectual property license
Course Duration:
- 2-4 months depending on the needs of the organization
