Certification Overview

Examine and address institutionalized culture and structures as they relate to racial disparities. Our certification program provides a comprehensive educational curriculum designed to enable qualified participants to serve as CCAR™ practitioners and facilitators. We deliver an instructional model grounded in CCAR Protocol™, adult learning theory, and culturally relevant practices.

Certification Pathways

CCAR™ Practitioner Certification:

A Personal Journey of Passion and Practice

The Practitioner certification is the foundational certification designed to allow participants to explore their will, knowledge and skill of Courageous Conversations About Race™. This course is focused on the individual, guiding them through adaptive changes, engaging their passion for racial equity work, while building their knowledge and skill base. By gaining the knowledge and skills of the CCAR Protocol™, we can begin to understand our racial selves.

Prerequisites:

  • Current systemic partner relationship with Courageous Conversation® for at least 6-12 months
  • Completion of our Beyond Diversity I (one) or Virtual Courageous Conversation® Exploration or Experience foundational training

Course Duration:

  • 9 months (*Includes 3 months of ongoing practice)

CCAR™ Facilitator Certifications:

Facilitator I: Aligning Your Professional Practice and Purpose
Facilitator II: Persistence and Building for Eternity

The Facilitator levels of certification are designed for organizations with current certified Practitioners who are seeking to become trained in the facilitation of our foundational Courageous Conversation® programming. Participants grow deeper in their racial consciousness within their personal, professional, and organizational practices. Upon certification, certified Facilitators are ready to lead trainings within their organizations based on their level of endorsement.

Prerequisites:

  • Current systemic partner relationship with Courageous Conversation® for at least 6-12 months
  • Facilitator I: Practitioner Certification must be held for a minimum of one year before applying
  • Facilitator II: Practitioner Certification, Facilitator I Certification, must be obtained before applying
