COVID-19 Statement

Courageous Conversation Community,

I hope that you, your families, friends and neighbors are all well and safe as we discover what it really means to be a global community. No one questions that COVID-19 has critically interrupted our systems—social, economic, crisis management and others. As we continue to understand and endure, we are reminded of the color, culture and consciousness of the systems and institutions upon which our treatment and recovery depend.

The way in which we greet, engage and associate with one another has been altered dramatically. Our collective effort to stay in and keep each other safe, however, do not include silence on matters critical to the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of our humanity. While the pandemic is colorblind and knows no borders, the responses are neither.

We sincerely hope that you will join the Courageous Conversation which will follow.

Founder and President

Each fall, Pacific Educational Group brings together dedicated racial equity leaders from throughout the United States and around the world to engage in a deepened conversation about systemic racism and its impact on opportunity and achievement for all people. The National Summit for Courageous Conversation (NSCC) is uniquely designed for educators, civic and community leaders, and other professionals who are committed to elevating individual and organizational racial literacy and consciousness to eradicate racial disparities that are predictably evident in achievement. The NSCC is PEG’s venue for bringing together the most promising and effective racial equity leadership voices, practices, and results for examination and broader dissemination across the United States and globally.

Pacific Educational Group will host a set of equity-focused gatherings across the country as we exercise our commitment to staying grounded in that which is personal, local, and immediate. Our Regional Summits will offer locally-accessible and regionally-relevant seminars with the same spirit of collaboration and empowerment of our National Summit. The newly formed Latino Racial Equity Retreat will address the nuances of navigating, negotiating, constructing, and exercising race for Latinos in the United States. Issues impacting Latino students such as the intersections of race, language, and immigration will be explored as well. Join us!
